Beer! Ale! Stout! Porter! IPA! Portland is renowned for its local brews and the brew pub culture. McMenamins (a bazillion locations) is the oldest and most diverse practitioner of the art. You can find small hole-in-the-wall neighborhood pubs where you can sample the brew and kick off the worries of the day. Or try Edgefield Manor for a weekend getaway. This place will simply amaze!
